isolating antfarm from being raided, how? | chiri | how can i keep my precious ant colonies from be eaten by house-dwelling Egytian ants?
one day 蟻司令 showed me to use salt water as a isolation method, then i tried, but salt crystals're crawling all over the tables around my precous ant colony just like a living creature making my table dirty !!

i tried to put my colony on the island amid water tube so that egytian ants can not touch them.
as time goes, water was getting rotten and disgusting larvae of unknown insects begun to appear in the water, so that i put some salts in it then larvae disappeared but salts begun to crystalize and to crawl over the inner side of the water tube upto the outside which makes my table dirty..

安,it is really a hard one to deal with.
maybe you can make your colony strong enough to face the invaders first, then put it outside.

i have over come it several yaers ago~
you can keep some creatures in the water,
like shrimp or pond snail, better pond snail in it
donnot keep shrimp and pond snails in the same place
but before the pong snails can conqure it,you must keep the water fresh(but if it donot goes bad donot change water,if it goes bad,claen you bottom of river and change all the water and pond snailsand do disinfection),and the number of pond snail should be enough.And more donot feed them~let them get the food from the water~2004-8-2 22:23:41 |

but i think fishes are better than shrimp and snails.
Imagine if larvae of mosquitoes appear in the water. Shrimp doesn't eat them so that they can easily move into the blood sucking adult mosquitoes~~!
